The equally subtle and simple retro look of the NUMAN Retrospective 1978 MKII makes the hearts of design lovers beat faster. The technology inside the boxes convinces audiophile music lovers. The speakers of the Retrospective series are not adjusted to be completely neutral. Rather, their sound is warm, dynamic and gives a breath of fresh air to joyfully play music from every style.

The technical focus is on the high-quality 3-way crossover, which splits the audio signal precisely and relays it to the 20 cm (8") woofer, 10 cm (4") midrange driver and the tweeter with built-in NUMAN sound guide.

NUMAN’s Retrospective 1979 S is a full-featured two-way speaker with many talents. Because this little music device is so concentrated, it may not be immediately apparent which musical qualities and just how much versatility it contains.

Despite its compact dimensions, the passive membrane construction with its 10cm (4”) passive membrane woofer ensures a surprisingly good bass sound. The 10cm (4”) mid-range, tweeter with silk dome and an elaborate turnout adjustment ensure a balanced sound picture and make for pure listening pleasure. When operating as a wall speaker, it benefits from a clearly emphasised bass reproduction. Due to its precise response and the excellent sound level for its size, the 1979 S sounds surprisingly lively.

NUMAN's Retrospective 1979 C is a two-way centre speaker in D'Appolito arrangement, which plays a prominent role in the interplay of the Retrospective Home Cinema Collective. It differentiates speech reproduction and fully plays off its qualities.

Despite its compact dimensions, the passive membrane construction with two 10 cm (4 ") passive diaphragm drivers allows for a surprisingly good bass performance. Two 10 cm (4") bass drivers, a tweeter with silk dome and an elaborate turnout with emphasis on speech intelligibility with as broad a radiation as possible ensure that the domestic cinema experience not only provides excellent picture quality in HD, 4k, Ultra HD, etc., but also delivers high-quality and excellent sound.

Like the Retrospective 1979 S, the Retrospective 1979 C also benefits from an accentuated bass reproduction as a wall speaker.

The NUMAN RetroSub was developed as a component of a home cinema system, and accordingly designed specifically for use on multi-channel receivers with a separate subwoofer channel. Its 25.4 cm (10") front-firing woofer convinces with its fat and powerful bass reproduction, providing precise and distortion-free dynamics in the overall sound spectrum. Home cinema and gaming applications, as well as conventional music tracks, are thus efficiently expanded in the low-frequency sound tones.

The aluminium stand with silicone feet reduces unwanted resonances to a minimum. The subwoofer is equipped with a bass reflex port at the bottom, which allows more freedom in the installation in the room.

SIMPLE ELEGANCE

When purchasing the speakers, you may choose the colour of the matching covers in a retro look. Due to the non-positive connection, the covers are easy to install and remove. The inner edges have been coated with a protective PU varnish to prevent scratches and damage.
